Abstract

This paper introduces a novel formula, based on the Radon transform, designed for the precise reconstruction of acoustic sources using measurements of scattered fields. This method offers significant advancements in inverse problems related to acoustics, potentially leading to enhanced capabilities in diverse applications such as medical imaging (e.g., ultrasound, photoacoustic tomography), non-destructive material evaluation, and various forms of remote sensing like sonar and seismic exploration. The improved reconstruction accuracy could have a direct impact on diagnostic capabilities and environmental sensing.
