Abstract

This paper investigates whether a smooth, large-scale local void can alleviate the Hubble tension, the discrepancy between local and CMB-inferred Hubble constant values. Through numerical simulations and analytical calculations, the study finds that while a local void can partially reconcile H_0 measurements, it struggles to simultaneously explain other observational constraints from large-scale structure and the kinetic Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect.
