Abstract

This paper explores the effects of humanlike AI design on anthropomorphism, engagement, and trust across different global contexts. The findings reveal that while humanlike AI generally increases anthropomorphism, its impact on user engagement and trust can vary significantly based on cultural and societal factors. This provides crucial insights for the ethical and effective deployment of AI systems worldwide, emphasizing the need for culturally sensitive AI design strategies to foster positive human-AI interactions.
