Abstract

This research investigates and proves the local-in-time existence of L^1 solutions for the gravity water wave kinetic equation. This mathematical breakthrough is critical for the rigorous theoretical understanding and accurate numerical modeling of ocean surface waves. It contributes to the fundamental theory of wave dynamics, which has direct implications for practical applications in coastal engineering, climate modeling, and predicting complex phenomena like rogue waves in large bodies of water. The work ensures a solid mathematical foundation for future studies in wave mechanics.
