Abstract

This paper investigates the use of pulsar timing arrays (PTAs) to detect individual supermassive binary black hole (SMBHB) mergers as "standard sirens" for cosmology. By targeting EM detections of SMBHB mergers with PTA data, future radio telescopes like the SKA could enable 1-10 such detections, providing independent measurements of cosmological parameters like the Hubble constant and dark energy equation-of-state.
