Abstract

We introduce novel variational symplectic methods for the numerical simulation of incompressible fluid flows. These methods inherently preserve the geometric structure of fluid dynamics equations, leading to enhanced stability and accuracy in long-time integrations, particularly beneficial for turbulence modeling and oceanography.
